Mouse anti-human integrin alpha 2b (CD41) antibody - Clone PM6/248

Reagent Name

Mouse anti-human integrin alpha 2b (CD41) antibody

Immunogen

Human platelet membranes

Relevance

Integrin alpha 2b is also known as glycoprotein IIb and in a complex with the integrin beta 3 subunit forms the receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin and von Willebrand Factor on activated platelets. The antibody activates platelets under stirring conditions and inhibits at higher doses . The antibody inhibits binding of fibrinogen, fibronectin and vWF in static adhesion assays and inhibits binding of soluble fibrinogen and fibronectin to ADP activated platelets.

Cross reactivity

Also reacts with baboon integrin alpha 2b.

Specificity

Epitope not mapped. The antibody inhibits binding of disintegrins to activated human platelets

Tested Applications

Flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation

Raised in

Mouse

Clonality

Monoclonal

Isotype

IgG1
